Purpose and Reason :
In accordance with Title XIX and XXI, all Medicaid applicants and beneficiaries must meet certain non-financial general eligibility requirements related to: identity, date of birth/age, Social Security Numbers (SSNs), residency, U.S. citizenship, and immigration status. In addition, applicants must agree to meet certain cooperation requirements pertaining to child support, liens and estate recovery, providing application information, and reporting changes, among others. These proposed regulations set forth those requirements.
Editorial Notes :
The agency requested an extension to the effective dates allowed by R.I. Gen. Laws § 42-35-2.10 for this emergency amendment which was promulgated on 5/1/2020. The extension was granted in accordance with Executive Order 20-101 which permits extensions for sixty (60) days. As a result of this additional extension, the effective dates have been revised and the regulation will now become ineffective on 02/25/2021.
