Part | 3 | Rules and Regulations for the Making and Management of Imaged Public Records (100-RICR-40-05-3) |

Effective | 12/03/2018 |
Regulation Authority:
R.I. Gen. Laws § 38-3-3(7)
R.I. Gen. Laws § 38-3-6(k)
Purpose and Reason:
The Department is proposing to repeal 100-RICR-40-05-3 in conjunction with the proposed adoption of 100-RICR-40-05-1 (“Records Management”).
This regulation contains technical and complicated processes for the imaging of public records. With the proposed adoption of 100-RICR-40-05-1 (“Records Management”), the Public Records Administration will continue to require adherence to industry and national standards as cited in 100-RICR-100-40-05-3 for preservation and digitization while making the process of records retention and management easy to understand.
The imaging standards Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) ANSI/AIIM ANSI/AIIM MS44-1988 (R1993), and International Organization for Standardization protocol ISO 19005-1 (2005) have been transferred from this regulation and integrated into the proposed adoption of 100-RICR-40-05-1 (“Records Management”).
