Part | 2 | Rules and Regulations for Microfilm Standards (100-RICR-40-05-2) |
Type of Filing | Repeal |
Regulation Status | Inactive |
Effective | 12/03/2018 |
Regulation Authority:
R.I. Gen. Laws § 38-3-6(k)(3)
Purpose and Reason:
The Department is proposing to repeal 100-RICR-40-05-2 in conjunction with the proposed adoption of 100-RICR-40-05-1 (“Records Management”).
This regulation contains technical and complicated processes for the microfilming of public records. With the proposed adoption of 100-RICR-40-05-1 (“Records Management”), the Public Records Administration will continue to require adherence to industry and national standards as cited in 100-RICR-100-40-05-2 for preservation and digitization while making the process of records retention and management easy to understand.
The imaging and microfilm standards Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) ANSI/AIIM MS19-1993 has been transferred from this regulation and integrated into the proposed adoption of 100-RICR-40-05-1 (“Records Management”).
