Purpose and Reason:
Effective April 1, 2015, this Medicaid rule (#0396) will be amended to reflect the 2015 changes in the FPL guidelines that were cited in the January 29, 2015 Informational Bulletin from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. These rules are also being amended to update related sections of the Medicaid rules to reflect 2015 cost of care figures. Amendments appear in sections 0396.10.25.10 and 0396.15.05.
Brief statement of Reason for Finding Imminent Peril:
The new FPL changes must be in effect for April 1, 2015 in order to prevent wrongful denial, discontinuance, or interruption of benefits for Medicaid applicants and beneficiaries. The new standards were published on January 29, 2015 in the Informational Bulletin from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. These amendments will be posted for public review and comment soon.
