Purpose and Reason:
Effective November 1, 2006, in conformance with the federal Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, children born to mothers whose alien status is determined to be undocumented or who is a qualified alien but has been here less than five (5) years, are not automatically eligibile to receive Medical Assistance. The parent(s) of these children must file a redetermination in order to determine their eligibility for Medical Assistance.
