Purpose and Reason:
The Department of State is proposing to adopt 100-RICR-30-00-5 entitled, "Renewal & Cancellation of Trade Names." With this proposed rule, the Secretary of State, in accordance with R.I. Gen. Laws § 6-1-7, is establishing the required filing information and renewal period to maintain an active Trade Name Registration. The rule will also create a formal process for the involuntary cancellation of a non-renewed Trade Name Registration.
