Part | 1090 | (Repeal) Rules and Regulations of the Corporation Governing Capital Fund Grants for Emergency Shelters |

Regulation Status | Inactive |
Effective | 05/06/2015 |
Regulation Authority:
R.I.G.L. 42-55-5(5)
Purpose and Reason:
The purpose of this activity is to repeal an obsolete and potentially duplicative rule. The Rule was originally intended to describe a grant program, through which Rhode Island Housing would provide direct grants to eligible homeless shelters for capital improvements, the purchase of capital equipment, and other related uses. In recent years, due to funding and other practical concerns, the program did not operate. In 2014, however, Rhode Island Housing revived and reorganized the grant program in the form of the Homeless Facility Improvement and Operating Deficit Fund Program, and adopted fresh rules for the new program’s administration. As a result, the Rule was rendered obsolete. This activity is intended to eliminate any actual or perceived overlap or duplication in Rhode Island Housing’s rules. There are no substantive differences between the final rule and the rule as proposed.
