Purpose and Reason:

The regulations are intended to govern the termination and restoration of residential utility service provided by regulated gas, electric and water utilities. The amended rules reflect the addition of the 2nd paragraph added to Part II, Section 1(I), and underlined on page 3.

Brief statement of Reason for Finding Imminent Peril:

Because economic conditions in Rhode Island coupled with possible delays in the processing of LIHEAP payments has created an imminent peril to the public health, safety or welfare.
