Purpose and Reason:
This regulation was promulgated pursuant to R.I. Gen. Laws Sec. 39-27 (Energy and Consumer Savings Act of 2005 at 810-RICR-50-00-1). The regulation established minimum efficiency standards for certain products sold or installed in the state. This regulation may be repealed because the standards in this regulation will be superseded in full by the Office of Energy Resources Regulation pursuant to R.I. Gen. Laws Sec. 39-27.1 (Appliance and Equipment Energy and Water Efficiency Standards Act of 2021). This will be a transfer of authority and standards to the Office of Energy Resources.
