Chapter 68 of the 2009 Public Laws, Article 17, Debt Management Act Joint Resolutions, Section 5

Purpose and Reason:

The Division of Motor Vehicles is repealing this regulation because its ability to assess a surcharge on DMV transactions pursuant to regulation expired on June 30, 2017. See P.L. 2009, ch. 68, Art. 17, § 5. DMV now has statutory authority to assess a $1.50 technology fee surcharge on DMV fee transactions pursuant to R.I. Gen. Laws § 31-2-27.
