Title 250 Department of Environmental Management
Chapter 60 Fish and Wildlife
Subchapter 00 N/A
Part 12 Target Range Regulations
Type of Filing Adoption
Regulation Status Active
Effective 06/28/2023

Regulation Authority:

R.I. Gen. Laws Chapters 42-17.1; 20-15 and 20-18
R.I. Gen. Laws §§ 20-1-2; 20-1-4; 20-1-8; 20-1-12; 20-1-13; 20-2-35
20-2-37 and 1-8-1
R.I. Gen. Laws Chapter 42-35

Purpose and Reason:

This is a one-to-one shift of the regulations from Title 100 Part 1 of the Parks and Management Area Regulations to the Hunting and Trapping Regulations. This is a new part because it did not fit well into any of the other parts. The only state sponsored target range is located on Fish and Wildlife Property and aligns with hunting safety regulations more than in State Parks and Management Areas. This is in an effort to streamline how the public is able to access and abide by the regulations in a more effective way.
