Title 250 Department of Environmental Management
Chapter 120 Air Resources
Subchapter 05 Air Pollution Control
Part 11 Air Pollution Control Regulation No. 11 - Petroleum Liquids Marketing and Storage
Type of Filing Amendment
Regulation Status Active
Effective 02/18/2024

Regulation Authority:

R.I. Gen. Laws § 42-17.1-2(19)
R.I. Gen. Laws Chapter 23-23
R.I. Gen. Laws Chapter 42-35

Purpose and Reason:

This regulation is being amended to remove outdated and unnecessary Stage II vapor recovery system requirements. Stage II Vapor Recovery Systems were required to be decommissioned from all gasoline dispensing by December 22, 2017, and currently there are no stations in RI operating with a Stage II vapor recovery system.

Additionally, Part 11 is being amended to update the definitions and terms related to Stage I vapor controls for clarification.  Outdated Stage I requirements have been removed.

The changes to the regulation do not create any new requirements for gasoline dispensing facilities.
