Purpose and Reason:

The rule establishes the minimum limits for automobile liability insurance issued in Rhode Island. The proposal is to repeal current Insurance Regulation 53 – Automobile Liability Minimum Coverage Limits, and incorporate its terms into 230-RICR-20-5-3 - Automobile Insurance Rating.
