Purpose and Reason:
This regulation describes “families with AFDC characteristics.” The Aid to Families with Dependent Children Program (AFDC) is now defunct. These families are broken down into three broad categories: children, pregnant women and newborns, and parents/caretaker relatives. See requirements now contained in 210-RICR-30-00-1 at § 1.7.
