Regulation Authority :

R.I. Gen. Laws § 23-1-17
Purpose and Reason :
Establishing operation criteria for licensed aquatic venues and aquatic facilities in Rhode Island during the COVID-19 state of emergency in the interest of the public’s health.
Editorial Notes :
Due to a clerical error, the effective date listed for 216-RICR-50-05-4 was erroneously submitted. This emergency amendment was intended to be effective on 03/26/2021. The ineffective date has also been altered to correspond with the agency’s request that this emergency expire on 5/25/2021.
Brief statement of Reason for Finding Imminent Peril :
The stay at home order for the state of Rhode Island caused by COVID-19, the new disease caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, has been lifted. In order to prevent further spread of COVID-19 as individuals begin to leave their homes more frequently and establishments begin to reopen, protective measures must be followed and implemented for licensed aquatic venues and aquatic facilities and bathers to ensure the public’s health and welfare is protected.
