Purpose and Reason:
The Division of Public Utilities and Carriers is adopting language to require timely notification of the public, municipal officials, The Rhode Island Department of Health, Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA)and the Division (Section IV (c)) when water quality emergencies occur. Final language clarifies a provision that utilities may avail themselves of notification assistance through RIEMA, should RIEMA accept that responsibility.
