Title | 810 | Public Utilities Commission |
Chapter | 10 | Consumer Protection |
Subchapter | 00 | N/A |
Part | 1 | Rules and Regulations Governing the Termination of Residential Electric, Gas and Water Utility Service |
Type of Filing | Amendment |

Effective | 10/25/2011 to 12/15/2011 |
Regulation Authority:
R.I.G.L. § 39-1 et seq. and § 42-35-3(5)(b)
Purpose and Reason:
The regulations are intended to govern the termination and restoration of residential utility service provided by regulated electric, gas and water utilities. The amended rules reflect the addition of Part V, Section 4(G), on pages 37-38. The amended rules will be in effect through December 15, 2011. This filing represents a technical revision of ERLID 6671 that corrects the dates on the cover page of the regulaton and there is no substantive change.
Brief statement of Reason for Finding Imminent Peril:
There exists an imminent peril to public health, safety and welfare because Rhode Island’s current unemployment rate is extremely high, making it more difficult for Rhode Islanders to meet their financial obligations.
