Purpose and Reason:
To develop a program that assesses priority land conservation needs and provides guidance for the nomination and selection of land conservation projects within the state. Upon federal approval, the program will allow Rhode Island to compete for federal funds for the acquisition of worthy coastal and estuarine properties.
