Purpose and Reason:

The purpose of the amendments is to clarify the procedures used by the Commission’s Hearing Board. The amendments will: revise definitions; add definitions on “adjudicatory proceeding”, “person”, “person with a disability”, “physical or mental impairment”, and “state agency” to conform to RIGL 42-87 or 42-35; add sections on “Jurisdiction” and “Filing For Recovery of Litigation Expenses” to conform to the Equal Access to Justice Act “RIGL 42 – 92; clarify the provisions on “Filing A Complaint”, “Conciliation”, “Hearing”, “Decisions and Orders”, and “Administrative Dismissal of Complaints”.
