Purpose and Reason:

These Rules and Regulations are promulgated under the authority of R.I. Gen. Laws § 5-8.1-4(b). They are established for the purpose of describing the practices and procedures of the Board of Registration for Professional Land Surveyors, which is one component of the Division of Design Professionals within the Department of Business Regulation (DBR) and to delineate application, registration, professional responsibilities, and procedural and technical standards for the practice of Professional Land Surveying in the State of Rhode Island. It is the function of the Board of Registration for Professional Land Surveyors to regulate the Practice of Land Surveying within the State of Rhode Island as defined by the General Laws.
