Part 1 RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYING IN THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND
Type of Filing Adoption
Regulation Status Inactive
Effective 11/25/2015 to 11/25/2015

Regulation Authority:

Section 42-35-3(a)(1)

Purpose and Reason:

This regulation would codify the current practices and standards of the Board regarding By-Laws, Applications, Examinations and Re-Examinations, Practice, and Complaints, Investigative Procedures and Hearings. This regulation would also adopt Professional Standards and Conduct which are modeled after the Model Rules of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying. This regulation would also re-adopt revised Procedural and Technical Standards which specify the standards to which surveys must be performed by professional land surveyors in order to protect the public interest. This regulation would also incorporate the repealed continuing education regulations, with two changes: limiting the number of professional development hours that can be obtained by correspondence to 50% of the biennium credits and increasing the number of credits that can be carried over a biennium from 5 to 10.
