270-RICR-10-00-1 INACTIVE RULE
Title | 270 | Department of Public Safety |
Chapter | 10 | Internal Operations |
Subchapter | 00 | N/A |
Part | 1 | Rhode Island State Police Rules and Regulations Sworn Members |
Type of Filing | Amendment |
Regulation Status | Inactive |
Effective | 02/02/2010 to 09/24/2014 |
Regulation Authority:
RIGL 42-28-3
Purpose and Reason:
The purpose of this amendment is to put into effect the revisions made to the rules and regulations for sworn members of the Rhode Island State Police. The substantive differences are: 1. In Chapter I, Section 1 (d) “Lieutenant Colonels” was changed to “a Lieutenant Colonel,” because there is now only one Lieutenant Colonel in the organization of the Rhode Island State Police. 2. In Chapter I, Section 1 (d) “National Criminal Identification Control” was changed to “National Crime Information Center (NCIC),” because this is the correct name for the system. 3. In Chapter II, Section 84 (b) (3) the word “multiple” was put before “braids” to clarify that one braid may be worn. 4. In Chapter II, Section 84 (c) “While In Uniform” was added to the title of the section after “Hair Regulations” to further clarify that these regulations are for when members are in uniform. 5. In Chapter II, Section 84 (d) “While In Uniform” was added to the title of the section after “Hair Regulations” to further clarify that these regulations are for when members are in uniform. 6. In Chapter II, Section 84 (g) “dress shoes” was replaced with “footwear,” which is a more appropriate word for this description. 7. In Chapter II, Section 84 (h) changes were made to the description of non-uniform attire for females to make it more appropriate and updated.
