Purpose and Reason:
The amendment adds Rule 13, exempting all employers that operate in the fresh prepared foods industry that prepare and distribute packaged food options for sale in retail outlets, such as grocery stores and convenience stores, and who must operate twenty-four (24) hours a day and seven (7) days a week in order to produce fresh, short shelf-life products, from paying employees Sunday and holiday premium pay. The difference in the proposed rule and the final rule is changing the amendment date to August 2015.
