Purpose and Reason:

This amendment to the Elevator Safety Code adds rule 2.0 to Appendix A to address safety issues regarding the limited use of elevators and related equipment during construction.

Brief statement of Reason for Finding Imminent Peril:

Elevators are often used on construction sites prior to the issuance of regular certificates of occupation. This amendment will allow the Department of Labor and Training to apply safety conditions to this use and monitor compliance.
