Chapters 42-17.1, 42-17.6, 20-4 through 20-10, and sections 20-1-2, and 20-1-4, in accordance with Chapter 42-35 of the Rhode Island General Laws of 1956, as amended.
Purpose and Reason:
The purpose of this filing is to amend regulations governing the commercial summer flounder, scup, and black sea bass management plans. This filing also terminates the summer flounder sector allocation pilot program for the 2012 season by repealing section 7.7.11, establishes a minimum size fillet for cod for the recreational sector, updates language, removes irrelevant or expired language, as well as a technical revision to section 7.11.2-1 which inserts the word ”day” to clarify it references a daily possession limit. This filing also amends the regulations governing the commercial monkfish management plan by modifying the parameters in which the state quota is monitored for consistency with the federal monkfish fishery management plan (FMP).
