Regulation Authority:
Title 20, Chapters 42-17.1, 42-17.6, and 42-17.7, and in accordance with Chapter 42-35-18(b)(5), Administrative Procedures Act of the Rhode Island General Laws of 1956, as amended.
Purpose and Reason:
To close commercial Atlantic Herring – Area 1A (2,000 lbs/vessel/calendar day bycatch allowance) on November 2, 2015, until the season re-opens on January 1, 2016 (unlimited); to open commercial Atlantic Herring – Area 1B (possession limit unlimited); to close the commercial Menhaden fishery in state waters outside the Menhaden Management Area on November 1, 2015 until further notice; and to close the commercial tautog fishery on November 2, 2015, until the next fishing season begins on April 15, 2016 at ten (10) fish/vessel/calendar day.
