Regulation Authority:
Chapter 42-17.1, Section 20-1-4, Section 20-2.1 and Public Laws Chapter 02- 047, in accordance with Chapter 42-35 of the Rhode Island General Laws of 1956, as amended.
Purpose and Reason:
Technical Revision due to an error discovered regarding the paper logbook endorsement and electronic reporting. The adopted regulatory language did not take into account the license holders solely fishing onboard federal fishing vessels who are exempt from the state logbook requirement if they submit copies of their federal vessel trip reports (VTR) to the Division, creating an unintended duplicative reporting requirement.
