Regulation Authority:

Chapter 42-17.1 and Sections 20-1-2, 20-1-4, 20-1-5, 20-10-5c, and 20-10-12, and in accordance with Chapter 42-35, of the Rhode Island General Laws of 1956, as amended.

Purpose and Reason:

Proposed definitions (new section 7); Clarifying and updating permitting and submission requirements (new section 8.0); Clarifying submission requirements for the shipment and importation of shellfish seed (new section 9.2); Reduce the time period requirement for the harvest of shellfish transferred from other than approved waters as seed (new section 9.8); Updating tagging requirements (new section 11.1); and General editing to improved readability (entire regulation).
