Chapter 150 Water Resources
Subchapter 10 Wastewater & Storm Water
Part 6 Rules Establishing Minimum Standards Relating to Location, Design, Construction and Maintenance of Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems
Type of Filing Amendment
Regulation Status Inactive
Effective 07/16/2014 to 06/27/2016

Regulation Authority:

RIGL 42-17.1, 5-56, 5-56.1, 23-19.5, and 23-24.3, of the RIGLs of 1956, as amended; and R.I. Public Laws 09-198 and 09-199

Purpose and Reason:

Amendments to the OWTS and Wetland Rules are necessary in order to establish and implement a new Joint OWTS/Wetlands application and permit for single family residential lots. This will streamline application processing by incorporating efficiencies in staff resources, and create a more predictable and timely process for applicants, while providing additional opportunities for environmental protection of wetland resources. No changes were made following the public hearing.
