Purpose and Reason:

The revisions to the Rules and Regulations for the Treatment, Disposal, Utilization and Transportation of Sewage Sludge are intended to reduce the regulatory burden on entities such as landscapers that utilize Class A Biosolids, and to restructure the Sludge Regulations to make them easier to follow and understand. The proposed revisions will not result in any significant change to how sewage sludge is regulated by RIDEM. The title of the rules was also changed to simplify citation.
