Regulation Authority:

RIGL 46-12, 42-17.1, and section 303 of the Federal Clean Water Act

Purpose and Reason:

In general, the amendments are in accordance with Section 303 of the federal Clean Water Act which requires the periodic review, modification and adoption of new standards. The proposed amendments include typographical corrections; adoption of updated criteria and site specific criteria developed following a technical methodology recently approved by USEPA; and fishery designations for rivers and streams, and lakes and ponds.
