Purpose and Reason:
These regulations address the reduction and recycling of solid waste generated by municipalities in the State of Rhode Island. These regulations establish the list of materials that must be recycled, set standards for ordinances governing material separation into recyclable and nonrecyclable components, and specify compliance standards and implementation schedules for municipal recycling programs.
