Purpose and Reason:

These amendments are designed to bring the regulation into conformance with the most current version of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners Model Regulation number 580. The portions of the Model Regulation which address preneed funeral contracts have been omitted since, in Rhode Island, such contracts are governed by R.I.G.L. §5-33.1-1 et seq., rather than by the Department.
