Purpose and Reason:

Employers seeking approval to become a group self-insurer pursuant to R.I. Gen. Laws §§ 28-47-1 et seq shall apply to the Director of the Department of Business Regulation. The application shall be on a form prescribed by the Director and shall contain answers to all questions. The application shall be filed with the Director not less than thirty (30) days prior to the proposed inception date of the group self-insurance plan.
