R.I.G.L. 40-8; Title XIX of the Social Security Act

Purpose and Reason:

Effective January 1, 2003, the rules are amended to reflect the following statutory increases: 1)the cap on the Minimum Monthly Maintenance Needs Allowance is $2,267; 2)the Minimum Protected Resource Amount is $18,132; 3)the Maximum Protected Resource Amount is $90,660; 4)the federal cap for institutionalized individuals is $1,656 monthly; and 5)the SSI Federal Benefit rates as increased by the social security administration's cost-of-living adjustment. Effective January 1, 2003, the medically needy income limits are increased pursuant to R.I.G.L. 40-8-3.
