Purpose and Reason:

The amendment implements the annual cost-of-living adjustments to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The following changes will be implemented effective October 1, 2011: (1). gross and net income eligibility standards increased, (2). The excess shelter deduction increased from four hundred and fifty-eight dollars ($458.00) to four hundred and fifty-nine dollars ($459.00), and (3). the standard deduction for household sizes 1 through 3 increased to $147; for a household of 4, increased to $155, for a household of 5, increased to $181 and for households of 6 and larger, increased to $208.
