Subchapter | XX | Old Regulations Which Were Not Assigned Chapter-Subchap-Part |
Part | 820 | Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Section 1038 SNAP Program Standards |
Type of Filing | Amendment |
Regulation Status | Inactive |
Effective | 05/28/2010 to 09/25/2010 |
Regulation Authority:
RIGL 40-6-8
Purpose and Reason:
Effective May 28, 2010, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program policy is being updated to reflect an increase in the Standard Utility Allowance from $556 to $576. In addition, the following sub-sections have been added to Section 1038 as they were erroneously omitted with the last filed amendments: 1038.07; 1038.10; 1038.17; 1038.19; 1038.20; 1038.20.05; 1038.20.10; 1038.35; 1038.35.05; 1038.35.10; 1038.35.15; 1035.20; 1038.40 and 1038.40.05. A technical revision was made to Section 1038.40, changing the minimum benefit from $14.00 to $16.00 as previously promulgated.
Brief statement of Reason for Finding Imminent Peril:
The Department of Human Services believes an emergency amendment to this rule is necessary to ensure that the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) accurately reflects the rise in heating and utility costs that Rhode Island residents have experienced.
