Purpose and Reason:
The annual Cost-of-Living Adjustments to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) are effective October 2009. The following changes will be implemented: 1. The gross and net income eligibility standards have been increased. 2. The excess shelter deduction has been increased from four hundred and forty-six dollars ($446.00) to four hundred and fifty-nine dollars ($459.00). 3. The Standard Deduction, which is now indexed to inflation, has decreased from $144 to $141 for household sizes 1 through 3. The standard deduction for household sizes 4 through 6 has increased. Effective October 2009, the standard deduction: O For household sizes 1-3 has decreased to $141 O For a household of 4, increases from $147 to $153; O For a household of 5, increases from $172 to $179; and O For households of 6 and larger, increases from $197 to $205
Brief statement of Reason for Finding Imminent Peril:
Effective October 1, 2009 the annual Cost-of-Living Adjustments to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)are being implemented.
