Purpose and Reason:
Effective July 15, 2002, to increase the work participation requirements for single parents whose youngest child is six (6) years of age or older from twenty (20) hours per week to a minimum of thirty (30) hours per week in one or more approved work activities in order to help the parent to obtain stable full-time paid employment. These rules and regulations have been adopted as emergency rules to implement the provisions of Article 25 of Chapter 65 of the Public Laws of R.I. of 2002.
