Child Support Section 0700
218-RICR-30-00-1 INACTIVE RULE
Title | 218 | Department of Human Services |
Chapter | 30 | Rhode Island Office of Child Support Services |
Subchapter | 00 | N/A |
Part | 1 | Child Support Section 0700 |
Type of Filing | Amendment |
Regulation Status | Inactive |
Effective | 09/19/2012 to 09/19/2012 |
Regulation Authority:
RIGL 15 - 11.1
Purpose and Reason:
The proposed amendments add language in Section 0704.25 of the rules to require that the custodial parent provide the husband’s full name if on the birth certificate the husbands name is listed as unknown and the parent is married at the time of the birth. Amendments further decrease the amount of insurance payments allowed before a review of RIGL 27-57-1 is required to determine whether or not the claimant owes past-due child support. Section 0722.60 regarding the interception of insurance payments has been revised to reflect every domestic insurer or insurance company authorized to issue policies of liability insurance and any worker's compensation insurer, shall, within thirty (30) days prior of making any payment equal to or in excess of five hundred dollars to any claimant who is a resident of this state, for personal injury or workers' compensation benefits under a contract of insurance, review information provided by the Office of Child Support Services pursuant to RIGL 27-57-1 indicating whether or not the claimant owes past-due child support.
