Purpose and Reason:

The proposed amendments implement the provisions of P.L. 2014-176 and P.L. 2014-192 regarding collection of a DNA sample from every person arrested for a crime of violence, as defined in RIGL § 12-1.5-2, who pleads guilty or nolo contendere, or is convicted of any felony.
