Type of Filing Amendment
Regulation Status Inactive
Effective 03/14/2017 to 09/28/2017

Regulation Authority:

RIGL Chapter 23-17

Purpose and Reason:

These specific amendments implement standards for Caregiver Services, as mandated by PL 2015-095 & PL 2015-115. RIDOH program staff has reviewed the comments contained in letter dated 4 January 2017 and does not agree with recommended changes The addition of an annual reporting requirement for hospitals for this new statute is not needed, given RIDOH regulations and procedures. Current regulations allow for RIDOH to make unannounced inspection visits. Additionally, the Department conducts investigations in hospitals. These practices should be sufficient to monitor compliance and implementation with the new regulations, without imposing the burden of an additional reporting requirement on hospitals. There were no additional comments submitted at the Public Hearing or during the public comment period.
