Purpose and Reason:
Require state/federal background checks for nurses; adopt required revisions to interstate nurse licensing compact; clarification of initial licensure requirements for foreign trained nurses; major revisions to information required in application for approval of nurse training programs and in the training/education requirements for nursing school director (chief academic officer), faculty and adjunct clinical faculty; establish specific regulations governing “innovative approaches in nursing clinical skills education”.
