Purpose and Reason:

The Rhode Island Department of Health (“RIDOH”; “The Department”) is proposing to amend “Licensure and Discipline of Physicians” [216-RICR-40-05-1] to amend the definition of surgery to add “Notwithstanding the above, injection of the following medications and autologous plasma products for cosmetic purposes is not considered surgery: Onabotulinumtoxin A, hyaluronic acid, Platelet-Rich Fibrin, and Platelet-Rich Plasma.”
