Purpose and Reason:
This new policy, in compliance with the 2001 amendments to Chapter 14 - 1 of the Rhode Island General Laws, provides that appropriate assessment and treatment services are offered to families and children prior to the filing of a wayward/disobedient petition in Family Court.
