Purpose and Reason:
"Standard of Proof" is a technical and legal term most often used to describe the quantity of proof and/or type of evidence needed in court proceedings. The Department has the burden of proving the allegations it brings against the parents/caretakers in all administrative hearings relating to child abuse and neglect.
