Purpose and Reason:
The Department, recognizing that the assessment of harm and/or risk of harm to a child is a critical component of child protective investigations, has established standards for investigating CA/N reports. These standards contain general directives for the handling of all investigations, designate different activities which must be completed by Call Floor CPIs and/or Field CPIs in response to specific allegations, and are prioritized in relation to the degree of risk to the child.
