Purpose and Reason:
Changed approval terminology for all family child care home providers to “licensing”, updated anti-discrimination language, raised the age threshold for higher staffing levels to eighteen (18) months from the proposed age of fifteen (15) months, added ethics and cultural competency as training topics for providers and assistants, included reference to culturally competent practices and culturally inclusive play materials, clarified registration and storage requirements for firearms and included requirement that provider and all assistants have a TB Mantoux Test with negative results.
