Purpose and Reason:

These emergency regulations incorporate the provisions of the 2018 SSI and Spousal Impoverishment Standards published by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on December 5, 2017. As the Standards must take effect on January 1, 2018, and due to this compressed time line, the regulations were filed on an "emergency" basis.

Brief statement of Reason for Finding Imminent Peril:

The 2018 Standards must take effect on January 1, 2018 and were published by CMS on December 5, 2017. To accommodate this compressed time line, the regulations were filed as "emergencies."
