Purpose and Reason:
These rules were originally filed as “emergency” rules on July 1, 2016 in order to incorporate changes to the federal 2016 Medicaid “Spousal Impoverishment Standards”, the updated minimum monthly maintenance needs allowance (MMMNA), and the monthly housing allowances for community spouses that became effective July 1, 2016. All of the amendments are pursuant to the revised standards published by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on May 31, 2016 and that took effect on July 1, 2016.
